Promote devices you haven't got in stock!
I really wonder how MTN marketing works! They have been promoting a contract with 5Gb data + 5Gb night data WITH an MW40 LTE router for R209 during September. They are currently promoting a different data package on radio Jacaranda but with the same router!
My present data contract is 3Gb with a 3G router for the same price. My present contract has just become due for early upgrade to I last week availed myself of the promotion & uograded my contract to it. I did this at MTN Hoedspruit on September 22. Ida informed me that they didn't have stock at the outlet & the warehouse was also out of stock too. She placed the order for the MW40 + LTE sim card and told me the MTN courier would advise me when it would be delivered to me.
Needless to say, I haven't heard another word nor have I received my new router and sim card! My data has been upgraded from 3Gb to 5Gb but I still only have a 3G router.
I contacted MTN about this matter on their Facebook page on 2017/10/03. They responded on Facebook Messenger on 2017/10/04 that they had escalated the problem and a regional manager would contact me immediately with a resolution. I guess the regional manager never found a resolution so ignore the client long enough and the problem will disappear!!
How can MTN run promotions with a device they do not have stock of????? When am I going to get my new router and sim card???
Dear Valued Customer,
We apologize for the inconvenience that you have experienced with stock issues. We completely understand the frustration it has caused.
We have introduced new systems with a view to improve services- these have led to our customers having to wait for their consignments much longer than what the process permits. We have reverted back to the old system to correct this error to restore services due to our customers. This may however take a bit of time to resolve.
We apologise immensely for this incident and the service you have received from us thus far. Do note that we are actively trying to resolve this matter and your patience is highly appreciated while we correct this shortcoming.
regards
