Problem with cancelation of mtn contract which has already expired

MTN, my contract has expired long ago. I have been on month to month contract since.

I have been trying to cancel my contract for some time. Went to MTN branches to be told it can only be done through helpline 135.

I have tried the number just went silent, you wait for over 20 minutes before getting any ringing tone. After which you wait for ever for calm to be dropped.

Went to the branch I was given reference number *** as proof of cancelation. I was still requested or advised to call helpline135 to make sure contract is canceled.

Its just unnecessary red tape
