Premature Data Bundle Expiry Run-around
I began using MTN's Night Express on 17 September when a 1 GB data bundle was purchased. Prior to the expiry, the bundle was depleted and a second Night Express 1 GB data bundle was purchased on 1 October.

Both airtime and more than 250MB of the second data bundle disappeared on the 17th of October. After repeated attempts to log a complaint via cell phone or web, I went to an MTN outlet with the problem. The problem was described and supporting information shown, i.e., SMSs confirming the activation of the second 1GB Night Express data bundle with a 1 November expiry date as well as a screen dump from the MTN website which also confirms the 1 November expiry date. The staff in the MTN outlet were very helpful in contacting MTN (***). The feedback from MTN was that the data bundle expired on 17 October. That, however, does not explain the disappearance of the second Night Express bundle which should not have expired until 1 November. Subsequent calls to the Helpline have even resulted in denials that the second Night Express data bundle existed even though there was data activity on the account subsequent to the depletion of the first data bundle.
