Porting to MTN: Biggest mistake I've ever made.

I switched from Vodacom to MTN in about November 2014 due to an interesting two-for-one data deal being advertised.

The process was smooth and without trouble, and MTN gave good service until the end of January.

The problem arose when suddenly when someone phoned me, and instead of hearing a ringing phone they heard an advert being played as my caller-tune. This confused many callers as they now thought my number was no longer operating.

I have tried calling customer service to resolve this issue but have found no one willing to give me the time of day on my issue as it an unusual one.

But this isn't the end of it.

Recently, my cell phone has denied me access to my pre-purchased data bundles. I am constantly being told to \sign in to Mtn network"then when I tap on the notification I'm sent to a website telling me I have run out of airtime & data.

However"

Hello KevinCanada,

Thank you for your post.

We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.

You have no caller tune, when somebody calls you your phone rings. There is no advert playing currently.

The Data you have available is called Night Express, you will only be able to use this data from 00:00:01 to 5:59:59 am.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Regards
Thabelo
