Porting process
I have reason to believe that my mobile number was hacked and used for on-line banking *****. From what I have been able to piece together, my Cell C number was ported to MTN. I've contacted both networks. Cell C said the porting happens through MTN, and they have no knowledge of it. I haven't yet had an answer from MTN, but what I want to know is, what is the process to port a number? What checks are done to ensure that the request is legitimate, and being made by the rightful owner? What part does RICA play? The SIM card was RICA'd under my name - how then is it possible for someone to take my number and call it their own?
These are general questions, to which I seek answers. I have also asked MTN for specific information in this regard, but I haven't yet received anything.

Number was reversed on the 10th of September and client was advised to contact Cell c on *** or go to a Cell c store so they can reactivate sim on their end this whole process is now waiting on Cell C. Ports are done Via SMS or face to face with stores and Rica agents. A network must have security measures in place to protect their clients.
Please visits Cell C to request for the port to take place from MTN to Cell C, this number is still active on our side.
