Porting of cell number

signed up for new cellphone contract 2 months ago, told the operator I need to port my number across, iI was told it can be done, then when I followed up they told me the porting failed and that I need to purchase a prepaid card and then do the porting. i purchased the prepaid card and went into a store, they lady told me they **** to me and i should report it, . I now have a MTN contract that I'm not using and paying for along with my original cell contact.
