Poor service from MTN repairs and Sony

I took out a cell phone contract on 4 December 2015 bundled with a Sony E2303
Handset. After using the phone for 4 months it went faulty. I then took it into the MTN
Repair centre on 04 March 2016. They returned the handset indicating that it has
been repaired under warranty. On 12 July 2016 I returned the phone again with the
Same problem as before. The phone gets very hot and keeps restarting and is thus
Unusable. Again they returned the phone indicating they have repaired it under
Warranty. On 4 November 2016 I again returned the phone with the same problem.
I advised them that it has also been struggling to charge since i got it back the last
Time. So for the 3rd time in less than a year i have had to battle without a phone for
2 weeks while they try and repair it just to have the same problem a few months later.
A bystander jokingly told me they will do this until the warranty runs out which seems
To be exactly what they are doing. The consultant at the MTN repair centre told me
That this entire range is giving many problems to an end that it was no longer being
Sold. They have now come back to me requesting i pay R906 to have the phone
Repaired as it was caused by the user. I don’t understand how they repaired it
Previously and now say it was user related. How can the user cause the board to
Get hot while being used or charged. I requested they replace the handset with an
Alternative model, but they don’t want to. They now advised me that they will not
Repair the phone until i pay, basically holding my under warranty phone for ransom. I was even advised by one of the consultants that they have sleepless nights about Sony clients and it's by far the worse phone company in SA

Well, i went back to the repair centre today and received my phone back after a fight, but, nothing was fixed and they have now decided to void the balance of my warranty.. Typical, just when it was the 3rd time i go back for the same problem, now all of a sudden i broke it.. haha, welcome to MTN..
