Poor Service
My predicament started at around April 2020 when I purchased 3 contract devices online, because of the advent of Corona virus. I ordered through the misfiring retentions department (what a nightmare of a department)
2 devices were delivered promptly but the 3rd one was never delivered, MTN however started billing me for all the 3 devices. I didn't stop payments but I sent several emails and logged in a number of calls to Sifiso/Patience (retentions) with my worries to no avail. The installments kept on coming off my account. In August 2020 I instructed my bank to stop the payments and in September 2020 I received the 3rd device... But that was only the beginning of my problems All my devices were suddenly blocked because I had missed an installment.
I have several emails of correspondence where the retentions department promised they will do a reconciliation for the device that was never delivered and credit my account through their billing department but to date nothing is resolved
MTN is now demanding that I pay a once off amount for the outstanding part of the contract - upwards of R16000. But, I don't have that kind of money
I have resorted to paying my installments manually with the hope that one day they will finally do the reconciliation for the device that was never delivered and get me connected again
I have sent a lot of emails mostly to the retentions department, made loads of phone calls and most of the time nobody bothers to respond... At one time the agent told me that I am not the only one with this problem, it's a department wide issue.. But still that does not solve my problem.
I am very disappointed with MTN for bungling up things and causing untold suffering on my part despite the fact that I have been using them for about ten years incident free prior to this.
