Poor service

CANCELLATION OF CELLPHONE NUMBER **********
I, S.D. Esterhuizen, had cancelled the abovementioned cellphone number on 18 June 2015 at the MTN shop at N1 City Mall. I was given a “MIGRATION APPLICATION (application to move) FROM AN MTN SP FIXED TERM CONTRACT (Postpaid) TO A MTN PREPAID SERVICE (MTN PAY AS YOU GO)” form, as proof of cancellation.

It is a year later, and the contract has still not been cancelled. Instead, the amount had increased from R269,00 to R599,01.

My account has been suspended a few times due to non-payment.

I have another two cellphone numbers linked to the same account, which means that all three numbers are suspended when payment is not made.

Whenever I have queried this (call to 808, MTN outside Canal Walk & MTN Shop at N1 City Mall), they would tell me to pay the full amount showing on my account (in order for them to unsuspend me) and that they would put in a query/complaint.

It is 23 June 2016, and this matter has still not been resolved. All I’ve received was an “Overdue Amount Warning” sms on 13 June 2016 and a “Payment Reminder” letter on 20 June 2016.
