I've had really bad experience with MTN:
1. Got a new contract 2 years back ( ********** 805). I didn't have immediate need to use the phone so when I attempted using the phone, the sim didn't work. I went to the store and they wanted to charge me R150 for a new sim of which I felt was a ******* and didn't pay it. Fast forward 2 years later of paying for service that I never used, I called MTN customer service in May 2018 to cancel the contract as it had ended. Spoke to an agent who felt bad about my experience and told me he would switch me to a R0 plan where I get R55 worth of airtime monthly until I decide to upgrade. He promised to send me a sim card to use. I'm still waiting!!!! 2. I did an upgrade on 6 November on another number ( ********** 555). Got an sms to contact carrier for delivery arrangements - sms was sent to data only number used for a router despite specifically giving them my number. Called the courier to be told they don't have access to the package so they can't deliver. CALLED MTN, got transferred to the courier again, courier said no package, CALLED MTN AGAIN, an agent promised to call back, never did, CALLED MTN AGAIN, asked for a supervisor, waited 20 minutes and opted for the agent to help, agent told me he will cancel the upgrade and redo it properly, agent promised to call me back, never did, CALLED MTN AGAIN, asked for a supervisor, put on hold for 20 minutes, I gave up!!!!!!!!
Best regards,
