POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! MTN can sell at branch level but unable to solve issue on the same level.
The worst support system ever. You visit an accredited branch for help with ***** on an account (MTN Klerksdorp). They refer you to dial 135. On that number, you have to go through 1000 hurdles and listen to BAD music and then receive POOR service. My aunt is elderly. Hi, Fi Corp in Kempton Park allowed one of their staff to give contracts on my aunt's number (What happened to RICA and FICA? She had a debit order and since August we had to reverse payments monthly they collected more than R7000 and R11000 etc. caused by those ***** numbers on her account. MTN then reverses all that only to bill her again R3820.50 which includes the ***** numbers. We have affidavits to prove all this. Then we sent an email on 12 Oct notifying them of this ***** and mistake to keep on billing her. On 13 Oct we received acknowledgement of the email with reference *** . We meanwhile paid her R601.56 on the legit number owed. Only to receive notification that her outgoing calls were terminated due to non-payment of the ***** numbers. We went through the process of calling 135 again holding on for ages with choices 1 to 1000 and music playing and ads we don't want to listen to. Then we got her phone re-connected with us stating that we were not paying for the ***** money owed. Then we received an SMS telling her that her payment arrangement of R3437.88 was accepted. BULLDUST!!! We arranged nothing. Then we were assisted by Tsestego telling us now there is only 1 ***** number involved (There are 3) while my aunt only has 1 device and 1 number. On request to get proof where those other numbers were authorised by our aunt, she only says it is archived. I think MTN have *********** staff running a poor customer service. Then we called again to try and solve the issue by converting her number to pre-paid and was told by Archie to speak to the ***** department again, this time to lift the arrangement we did not make and then she must first pay a penalty fee of R536.50 !!!!!
