Poor customer service

On the 28th of July, I made my way to the MTN branch in Woodmead retail park. While there, a Mr Nielsen assisted me.

I informed him that I was there to bring my phone in for repairs, with the warranty expiring at the end of July. Please note that I was there 2 months ago and could not be assisted due to the strike.
Mr Nielsen requested a proof of purchase from me, which I did not have with me because previously, the branch never requested this before.
I then went home, and decided to go to the Newtown junction branch on the 29th of July. I was attended by Lerato, who was very rude and had 0 product knowledge.
I informed Lerato about my situation, and she informed me immediately that the phone would not be repaired under the warranty because it will only be picked up on Friday the 31st, and by then, the warranty will have lapsed. I informed her that it was unfair, and asked her to call the repair centre to confirm. She called them, and when finished, she told me that the 6 month warranty is finished and was also impatient with me. The lady was so rude, that I had to call the repaur centre myself for them to make me understand.

Lerato should not represent your brand.

Hello Phumi24,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We appreciate that you have made us aware of the issues that you were faced with regarding the faulty handset.

I apologise for any inconveniences caused as a result of this. I understand the frustration that you endured in your attempt to have the issue resolved.

Unfortunately, the IMEI number and Job Card number have been left out of your post which does delay the resolution time. In order for us to revisit the repairs, we would require you to book the handset in again and have the store mark it for urgent attention as it has been in for repairs on a prior occasion.

Thank you
Wenzile Masina

Best regards,
