Poor Communcation but easy to take money out your account

<p>It's been a month since I last wrote a complaint to MTN regarding being sent an invoive for calls made from overseas.</p> <p> </p> <p>In my intitial complaint, I explained that at no point did I sign up for International Roaming nor did I agree that a cap can be put on should I venture out of the country.</p> <p> </p> <p>As it happened, I travelled out of the country in December and while abroad I decided to try and make a phone call. To my surprise, it went straight to the dial tone and connected me to the number dialled. I found it strange at first but then figured it must be my luck as my oyher friends also tried but were met a voice prompt saying they were not able to make calls. I received NO VOICE PROMPT WHATSOEVER not did I receive any confirmation message if i would like to continue with the call as it would cost me X amount.</p> <p> </p> <p>I get back to South Africa only to receive an invoive for R1500 and that my account will be debited for the calls made. I send MTN a message via Hello Peter, explaining to them thr above and saying I refuse to pay. A response was sent that was probably automated saying they cant help to which I responded and here I am...bank account just debited with R1500 and MTN sitting hi and dry.</p> <p> </p> <p>I WANT A REFUND IMMEDIATELY PLEASE!!!!!!!!!</p> <p> </p> <p>If your service can so easily have a voice prompt saying "you're not allowed to make this call" or "you have insufficient funds to amek this call, please load airtime"....then WHY THE HELL can't that same voice say "we're sorry, but you're about to make an international call. Would you liek to proceed?"</p> <p> </p> <p>I'm R1500 out of budget for the month already thanks to you MTN..</p> <p> </p> <p>Please refund me immediately</p> <p> </p> <p>Regards</p> <p>IsgaK Martin</p>

Reviewer Update

Hi there Siphumezo,

Thank you for your response.

I would just like to know what difference it would make investigating the invoice at this point, as the money (R1500) has already been debited off my account??

The invoice sent was for International Romaing charges as mentioned in my previous messages sent. My argument is that I wasn't aware of these charges at the time of making the calls nor was I asked or warned by means of voice promt that I would be incurring such charges.

If investigating the invoice is going to mean I get my refund as requested - then by all means go ahead. But if it's just a formality and a means to keep the client "happy" that they at least received a response, then please stop. How long will this process take anyways?? Weeks probably hey..

All I'm asking is that I be refunded for the R1500 that was debited from my account as per my reviews posted prior to this one.

Inconvenience is one thing - being out of budget for your monthly expenses is another thing all on its own.

Kind regards

Isgak Martin
