Poor Call Centre and Store Assistance: MTN South Africa
My experience with MTN South Africa over the past two years:
1. An incorrect email address was entered for my contract and after numerous attempts in store and to the call centre I was unable to rectify this.
2. I never received a copy of my contract.
3. As a result of the 'faulty' email address, for the whole two years of the contract, I have not received any invoices or statements. I was in the dark continually about the status of my situation with MTN. A tariff increase took place also without me knowing about it in advance!
4. The call centre 083 135 is something to fear greatly with very confusing menus when all one needs is a simple answer or a resolution to a clear and specific problem(see above).
Examples:
a. It took me 9 calls and R34-00 of my PAYG airtime funds to get someone to help me this morning concerning how much I might be charged at the end of this month. b. A bit more than a month ago I spent R130-00 (17 calls) of my airtime trying to ascertain the status of my contract. In numerous cases I got through to someone but the line was so bad we were unable to communicate. This was not the fault of my connection. My line was 100% operational. How can the call centre of a very large TELEPHONE Company have such poor connections that one cannot be helped. I repeat this happened a number of times.
This is shocking service.
For me it is beyond belief.
