Poor business practices, bad contract

I am writing this on behalf of my partner:

On the 18th of July a cellphone contract was app**** for and subsequently approved, in the process we were informed due to being on the network there was no need for a connection fee, the current mtn simcard will simply be converted to a contract via simswap on a new sim. Since then both new and old sim numbers have been problematic and not working at all. After multiple visits to the branch and promise of "giving it 48 hours" ,today the bill on the app was received firstly with an amount above the stipulated contract terms, secondly with reported data, sms and minutes usage on simcards that didn't even work.

I am disappointed with MTN and expected better as I encouraged my partner to give them a try.

This is poor business practice on their part.
