Policy/ insurance

I received an SMS from MTN Insurance stating that my policy has been cancelled due to non-payment, despite having received a contract on August 12th confirming my new premium of R307. They deducted R307 on August 31st, but then deducted an additional R486.30 on September 2nd.

When I contacted MTN Insurance, they said they couldn't figure out what went wrong and referred me to a store. However, at the store, they directed me back to the call centre, as they don't handle insurance issues. After speaking to the call centre again, I was told the issue was escalated on August 14th but has still not been resolved. When I asked what exactly had been escalated, the agent said she couldn't view the details in the system.

MTN is really messing up—it's frustrating how they double-charge on insurance after you've already paid off your phone contract!
