Phone repair taking over a month!!!!

Took out a contract for a brand new phone. Two months into my contract the headset(earpiece) of the phone stopped working. My phone has been sent away and it's been MORE THAN A MONTH!!!! HOW do you people still expect me to pay my full monthly installment when i have NO PHONE!!! SICK AND TIRED of waiting. I want answers or i'd like to be compensated for having to pay for something i don't have!!!!
