Phone provided not compliant with request
Yesterday afternoon at 1640 I went to Willowbridge Mtn to buy a phone so that I could use whatsapp while my Samsung was being repaired. I specified to the saleslady that I was there to buy a Whatsapp enabled phone. In other words that I would not be interested in a phone that did not support a working verison of this application.I was sold a Nokia Asha 210. In store in the time remaining she was not able to activate the app. At home later I too was unable to successfully download the app. So this morning I went back there just after 9:00. I requested a refund as the phone did not comply with the specs that I had requested. This was refused. The Mtn call centre dropped my call (twice). And the head office of the franchise said that they should continue to try to make whatsapp work. The young man tried and after an hour and a half proclaimed that he had successfully installed the app. However, this is not the case. Whatsapp does not work. Why can't I get a refund? Why am I not protected by the Consumer Protection Act? I tried to return the phone within 24 hours but was refused and unable to speak to anyone at Mtn able to make a decision. Why should I stay with Mtn?
