Phone "non-warranty"

I have had an ongoing saga for months now trying to get a 7 month old phone repaired under warranty. HVRC says apparently a "flex" cable inside the phone is torn and not warranty. How does a cable get torn inside the phone? Phone just started over-heating and eventually died.....could ot be switched off manually.

Here are reference numbers for my "case" Phone Repair Ref X02676 / MI4 16GB White - C [# ********** 5]. How is this for a reply from HVRC after being contacted by MTN informing me of my liability of R330.00 and the phone is ready for collection. This is straight from an email:

********** ********** 9 this IMEI number says no records found on the systems I cannot comment on the below statement you're making about the faults.....PLEASE HELP
