Phone awaiting exchange for 2 months.

My girlfriends phone stopped working. Failure to charge. She took the phone into MTN to have it repaired. A week later (acceptible time frame), they came back and said the phone is due for replacement because the phone cannot be repaired.

That was 2 months ago.

I have called the repair center numerous times on her behalf, only to be given this exact response every single time. "I do not know when the replacement will be here". Let me reitterate that, it has been two months. TWO MONTHS. MTN you are charging my girlfriend for a phone she does not have. That is not only theft, but voilating one's rights under the consumer's protection act.

I called the repair center today, spoke to the supervisor (couldn't get through to senior manager for he wasn't at the office). The supervisor was actually fairly helpful.

He informed me that I can call back tomorrow at 3 to find out what the progress is for the matter has been escalated to "senior" management.

IF this phone is not replaced by the end of the week. Once again, with either the same or a phone of equal value, I will personally have my debit order canceled with MTN and my girlfriend will do the same, I will gladly return my phone there after. You are more than welcome to try and take any action against us. But at the end of the day, this is pure theft. You're *****ing her money.

As an MTN customer too, I am sitting here and just praying that my phone doesn't have any problems, because I too will have to wait two months for a replacement.

It's really sad, when sigining up for my contract, mtn was extremely helpful. Yet here I am fighting a two month battle to have my girlfriends phone replaced, when it has been sitting on the "awaiting exchange" progress for this long.
