On 2 December 2019 I went to renew my contract at MTN store situated in Quagga centre Pretoria. I was looking for a Huawei p30 lite phone which was exhibited as R379 on the MTN December booklet. My verbal conversation with the consultant was clear that I did not want any insurance taken against this phone and that the phone I am taking is at the amount of R379 wherein I will be getting 1G anytime data, 1G night data, 100 sms and 100 anytime minutes.
To my surprise an amount of R704 is being deducted monthly from my account as of 15 January 2020. Several complaints were made with the store, the insurance, and the customer care but nothing has been done about it.
On the issue of insurance they are saying that they have mistaken me to one of their clients by the name of Nosipho, but they still refuse to provide me with assurance that they will give me back my money and will stop deducting my account even after I provided them with documentation that proves I am not that person.
When making further follow up with customer care I am told that my contract is R579, instead of R379. I may have been made to sign for this, but I was of the impression that I am signing for the deal which was appearing on the booklet. I must say that such a deal was not in the booklet. I went back to the store to query the matter and was told is another mistake as the package was only for black Friday and the package was not as what I was getting but to this day nothing was done - all I need to to be put on the rightful package.
