Pay even if theres no service provided

MTN handed over my account with no communication to me, on the basis that i refused to pay for the data and minutes that I never received. I took a contract where I went back repeatedly to the MTN store to inform them that the sim isn't working, over a period of 6 months and when I told them i would not have an issue with paying the subscription less the bundles portion nobody assisted me. The account is now with Raya attorneys of which I must pay for minutes and data i never used.
