Pay Back The Money!
MTN charged my boss over R20 000 over the past two months, with no prior warning that she was working out of her monthly 5GB data package. She did not receive an SMS or email notification to inform her she was being billed on out of data bundle charges. She requested the notifications and she was informed she would have to migrate to a different service if she wanted notifications -- of which she did, but still, no notifications. It is absolutely ******** what they are doing, and they have not got back to us after we app**** for reimbur*****t. The key thing is this: She was never informed that the data price more than tripled. This, coupled with the fact that the bills were simultaneously changed to a very convoluted system of viewing, means that she only picked up the issue several months in. MTN may have had a small print sentence in one of the bills they sent, but if the fundamental terms of the contract are going to be changing, they owe it to consumers to send a SEPARATE, dedicated communication to this effect. Not a sentence of fine print in a document that consumers only scan for the total amount. MTN must pay back the money. This is utterly unacceptable.
