1. This is not a solution this is thievery!
2. My request is simple, convert my existing number to prepaid, and allocate new number to my contract and allow me to continue paying until end of contract term.
3. Your proposal is ludicrous insofar as I have to either:
3.1 Wait 10 months for my contract sim to be made prepaid, or
3.2 Terminate my contract, which you are clearly inviting me to do as this will probably be the most lucrative option for the MTN ripoff.
4. What I fail to understand is that I am tendering to pay and continue my contract as I have done for over 21 years, whilst MTN ripoff team seam to what to hold my number hostage by not releasing it to me a number which I have been paying for dearly for 2 decades.
5. Surprisingly Cell C is able to do this number swap with a smile, yet MTN rippoff as the second crony in this OLIGOPOLY will employ every unetherical and questionable means possible to hold their customers to ransom!
6. MTN's practices are both ********* and anti-competitive. It flies in the face of international best practice and consumer standards.
7. The MTN oligopoly Goliath will soon meet their David.
8. The consumers need protection from the likes of MTN. Complaints should be lodged with Competition and Consumer Commisioners!

9. To exacerbate matters to further depths, as expected, still waiting on a settlement figure 1 week later! Abuse the customer!

10. Correction. Still MTN ripoff fails to supply settlement figure 3 weeks later despite repeated requests.
I suspect the reason is that it is easier to cancel the customers contract and debit their bank account immediately RATHER than disclose the settlement amount which opens it to scrutiny. SA consumers know too well how impossibly difficult it is to try get money back from a bank stop order especially from a contract that does not have an arbitrage provision. Shame on you MTN.
