Pathetic service in respect of outstanding refund
I approached MTN to assist with a takeover of a Vodacom number and this is exactly where everything went wrong. Kyle at the Key West branch assisted with the move however he captured the number incorrectly (swopped x2 numbers around) which meant that I did not get any of my business calls (and could not earn an income). I phoned the store and advised them of the problem. Upon investigation we were advised by Vodacom that there will be a waiting period before the takeover of the number could be done (29.12.2017). Kyle was off ill and Lebo made contact to advice that I should not worry about the "contract" I will not be debited for a contract that is not active. On the 29.12.2017 I double checked with Vodacom that the transfer can be done, and then went back to MTN where Lebo assisted with the takeover of the number. I was sent home with the comments that I will receive a sms to confirm the take over and I should respond with a Yes. This however did not happen and I went back to the MTN Store in Key West this time I asked to speak to the store manager Samantha who assisted with the activation. At the same time I advised her that I was billed for the contract that was not active and she promised to arrange for the refund to be processed. However she did confirm that the lady working this is on leave (as if there is nobody standing in for her)? On the 15.1.2018 I contacted MTN to enquire about the refund, spoke to Samantha who advised that she will follow up. On the 16.1.2018 I again phoned, spoke to Samantha who again said that she did follow up on the refund but received no response but will contact the person doing the refunds. On the 16.1.2018 I phoned again (taking into account that I have now been patient for almost x3 weeks), spoke to Samantha who advised that she will take the matter up with Johanna Whitfield (area manager) who she expects during the day. On the same day 16.1.2018 I received a call from Johanna who advised that she's on her way to the dept who is responsible for the processing of the refund and will revert. I phoned Samantha again on the 17.1.2018 to my surprise she confirmed that I can expect a refund of R1 472 within x2 days. I have phoned numerous times left messages on ********** , ********** and ********** but just don't get any response. Today I again did a follow up but to no avail. Ultimately my husband tried to make contact he spoke to Johanna Whitfield upon enquiring about the refund and ultimately telling her that he will have the debit order returned and will get legal advice she dropped the phone in his ear. How professional and this after they failed to deliver!! What more should I do ... is there anybody in the MTN company who will take the time to give feedback that actually materialize? Is there anybody in MTN that can tell me why the refund has not yet been processed? Is that too much to ask?
