Pathetic service from MTN
Yesterday I bought through my FNB banking app R100 airtime for number *** at 06:45
The transaction went through successfully from my banking account, reflecting R100 purchase.
However, the airtime was not credited to the said number.
This morning I first followed up with my bank, which confirmed the transaction went through successfully.
Then my nightmare with MTN started:
I phoned 083 135 and after many, many minutes of holding the line with no help from MTN, I decided to phone a local MTN store in Nelspruit. There are FOUR in Nelspruit, and not a single one of them answered the call. I then decided to drive to the nearest store at ABSA square . There a consultant dialed 135 from her phone, she spoke to someone from MTN, and then handed the phone to me. When I told the person it was for a prepaid phone (not contract), I was told to "hold on" and the call was transferred. I held on for MORE THAN 20 minutes - no-one answering.
The consultant then spoke to what I believe is the supervisor/manager of the store, who, in his language, spoke to her. I could not understand the conversation, but what I could overhear is that he was mentioning the fault is at my bank, not MTN. I then addressed him in English, once again explaining that I did follow up with my bank, and showed him the proof from my bank. He then said that the consultant shouldn't have called the 135 number in the first place lace, but should have used the computer system to see "where the money is". Really!
This really was an awful experience for me. I wasted all in all far more than an hour with MTN to get this purchase resolved; which is still unresolved.
Really MTN, your customer service is pathetic.
