Pathetic service from MTN

I have been a contract holder with MTN since 1994. My contact has ended on the 6th November 2016 and since the 17th of November 2016 I have been trying to get them to migrate my contract to a Pre-paid service.

On Friday last week I wnet to an MTN store in the Brooklyn mall and they confirmed it has been migrated. Then I phoned their number ********** (Retentions) and they confirmed my number has been migrated to Pre-paid.

I then went to a Vodacom store this morning to port my number from MTN to Vodacom and the guys at the Porting department told the Vodacom guys that the number is still on contact at MTN. I then phoned them myself now and spoke with a rathur rude guy who chips in while I am stating my case and my unhappiness with MTN as the one department does not know what the other department is doing and there is no one I can actully turn to. Maybe if I could phone the CEO of MTN, but I suppose you will not be able to speak to him.

I am so fedup at this satge with the pathetic service that they give their customers and hope that by reporting this on Hellopeter will help to get MTN to wake up

Thank you for your post.
We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.
We have requested our technical support team to update the mobile number status accordingly on the network. Please request the other service provider to resubmit the port as post-paid, kindly provide them with your ID number and MTN account number for our systems to authorise the port out.
Rest assured it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.
Kind Regards

Thanks for your reply. Still does not make me feel better regarding the service from MTN though.
I once again went toa MTN store in Irene Mall and was helped by a very friendly and helpfull guy by the name of Andrew (if all the people working for MTN was this kind, friendly and helpfull, I might have stayed with MTN). He once again confirmed that my number has been migrated to Pre-paid. While in the store, I also phoned the Porting number and it was confirmed that my number was migrated and could be ported. I then went to Vodacom, requested them to port the number, but once again it was declined. I immediately went back to MTN and asked for Andrew. He phoned someone and it was then reported that the MTN system has rejected the migration to Pre-paid. Apparently it showed as being migrated on the front end system, but on 2 back-end systems, it was not migrated yet?
He then wrote an email report/request to retentions and said that it would take a week to be fully migrated, so now I need to wait another week.
When I opened my mails this morning, I saw the reply from MTN, so I'll go to the store again this morning and see it what you stated in your reply is true (although I doubt it and know that when I get to the store, I will still not be able to port my number) Will have to wait and see.

Dear Siphumezo
As I thought, it was again a waste of my time.
Went to the MTN store and they confirmed that the number has been migrated to Pre-paid on all the systems, and I was feeling rather good.
I then went to Vodacom to port the number, and once again got an SMS from MTN that the Porting was declined??? What a pethetic situation.
Could I ask you not to "request" your techincal support team to migrate the number from contact to pre-paid, but rather "tell" them to do it? This is really so frustrating and a total waste of my time!!
It will really be appreciated that MTN will let me know when this has been done so that I do not have to drive to the store and waste my time on this any further. As the e-mail which I received from transitions sated that after 2 to 24 hours after migration, they will send me an SMS to confirm this, I would really like some form of confirmation when this is done!!
