Pathetic Service

My contract came to an end and I have been struggling to get MTN to cancel the contract and migrate my number to pre-paid. My first call was on the 12th July, to which I was told that they cannot migrate the number due to an error they experience on their systems, which hopefully will be resolved within 5 days.

Worst off, my number was credited with minutesand and data, which I again called to tell them I cancelled the contract. I was told it is because they still haven't cancelled my contract but I will not be liable for it. I have since been forwarded the monthly invoice for the amount which will be debited from my account.

To date( being the 25th), this still hasn't been resolved, I have called endlesly to get this resolved as no one bothers to call me for update. Every time I call I'm given the same story over and over again. I requested to be transferred to a supervisor today, and spoke to Ahmed, who also didn't want to commit when this will be reolved, or at least call me back with update. His response was that if no one calls me by 3pm, I should call back and find out the progress, which is unnaceptable as I have been the one calling MTN since the 12th (i have reference numbers for the calls) and not really getting anywhere!

This is repugnant!!!!!!!

I need this to be resolved ASAP!!

Hi Alice,

Thank you for your response. You seem to be the first one to advise that it actually expired on the 5th, as I have been numerously quoted the 12th and that is concerninig. If the date is therefore the 5th, why was I quoted a date that is a week later? I called in June to give notice of cancellation to which I was told I could only call on the 12th, as that is the cancellation due date.

To have called to cancell my contract timeously and then be billed for the month when it was going to have been cancelled is actually day light robery. Was I then given a later date to enable MTN to bill me?

Also, the last call that I had today was that it is now too late to cancel the debit order and I should therefore be the one to reverse it when it goes through. Also, i kept on raising this concern, refer to the previous reference numbers on my number, where I was told that I wouldn't be billed as the error of loading date and minutes now in July was actually due to MTN not being able to cancel in time.

Again I ask, why then am I being billed in July? Why should MTN penalise me when I have done all I could to advise of cancellation in time and they in turn not only gave me the wrong date but also were incompetant in not actioning my request until loading it on this platform?
