Pathetic after sales service

I app**** for a phone contract for which I asked for my existing number that was on prepaid to be used. I went to fetch the phone on Friday 22 March. Upon leaving the store I tried to make to call I realized the phone cannot make calls or send sms at all it can only receive calls. I went back to the store the same consultant who helped me said he has been told its doing that because of the conversion from prepaid to contract and it should be working Saturday morning. On Saturday morning I called the same consultant and told him I still cant make calls/send sm or use any mtn services. He said he will follow up. I called him again during the day since he did not get back to me and it was still not working and he responded with an sms that he was following up and was actually on the phone with network operators. I called him again and he said he logged a call, the network operators were working with skeleton staff as it's a weekend but they said the problem is that the number is stuck between contract and prepaid but they will resolve it before end of the day. After several calls again on my side around 5pm he called often to find out what errors was happening with the phone and he said they are working on it at that time. After several calls he indicated the network people do not know what is wrong and after that I received no calls and no fedback. Sunday I called him and my calls were unanswered and I sent him an sms to which there was no response.

So effectively I have been effectively been with a phone that can't make calls the whole weekend and MTN actually can't be bothered to even say what is happening with it. If they do not know how am I supposed to know? And as for the after sales service in terms of giving feedback it is non existent not that now I want any excuses anymore it is it is either it is working or they take everything and put my number back on prepaid as it was functioning properly.
