Passing the buck

I have been having a small issue with my data Sim for some time & it finally got to a point where I was frustrated. My first attempt to get assistance was to call customer care. Admittedly, I wasn't certain if my query could be addressed. On 12Feb, I made two calls to mtn's 135. Over nine minutes in total but I was not assisted. On 15Feb, I sent a direct message to Mtn via Twitter. I stated my frustration with the IVR system and detailed my issue. About 10minutes later I got a reply, in which I was advised to contact the Mtn Activation team on ***. Around 10h40, I did just that. The agent at activation advised me that she is unable to assist me as I am a contract client and transferred me to contract customer care. The agent at contract customer care advised that since I'm querying a data Sim, I would need to speak to mobile data support and she transferred me. The agent at data support advised me that my query should be resolved by the activation team and suggested transferring me. I then advised her on the course I took to get to her and that it all began at activation. She insisted that they would be able to assist, so I agreed to the transfer. After a few seconds of being on hold, the call disconnected. The total call time was about 19m30s. Around 11h20 I went back to direct message on Twitter and shared this experience. Again, within 10minutes, I got a response and after the "sincere apology", I was offered the activations and customer care email addresses and advised to forward my query to either of these. I was also advised to visit an Mtn branch. Given my experience, I opted for that option. I visited Mtn in Centurion mall on 16Feb and was advised that what I'm requesting cannot be done in store. All I'm looking to do is set up my data Sim in way that allows the sms notifications relating to my data usage to be sent to my primary number because I have not been able to access or read the messages sent to the data Sim number via the app I was told to download when I got my pocket router.
