Paid up account still reflecting negatively

I had phone contract with MTN however due to circumstances it went into arrears however when I was able to I paid up the account in full and received a paid up letter but for months this is still affecting my credit profile negatively, I sent multiple emails to the complaints but my query is not resolved waiting for EDC it's really bad service.
