Overpromise, Underdeliver

I app**** for an additional contract on Thursday, 29 December 2016 and spoke to Tracy at MTN Direct telephonically. The whole process went down smoothly and I asked Tracy confirm the details of the contract and everything checked out. She then promised that I would receive my phone by the next week - no later than Friday, 6 January 2017 and also said that I would receive an SMS and email within the next hour.

After I didn't receive any sms or email, I phoned MTN Direct again on Tuesday, 3 January and spoke to Ernest. He then told me that my application couldn't be approved as some documents were outstanding (payslip) - this after Tracy said everything is in order. I sent Ernest an email and two hours later my contract was denied. I then phoned again and this time Sipho answered. He then told me that my contract was denied because Tracy didn't capture my information correctly on 29 December. As a result, I had to restart everything, which I then did. Then I was told that as soon as my contract is approved (which it was only 30 min later), I would receive my phone within 3-5 working days, which meant I could possibly receive it by last weekend, 6 January. When I enquired on Friday, I was told there is an invoicing issue at the warehouse and as a result, no stock is released for delivery.

You have overpromised and underdelivered the whole time. When I got upset about Tracy wasting so many days, I was simply told I have to understand that she is new to the job. Honestly, that is not my problem. If you're interested, I will come and train your team to avoid any such embarrassing situations from happening again.

As a result of your inability to deliver as promised over and over again, I request that you expedite the delivery of my phone and contact me asap with a solution on how to get the phone to me in record time.

Thanking you.
