Overbilling, incompetence and disgusting service!

I was one of the unlucky customers from Autopage who got moved over to MTN when they closed business. MTN took over my account and the nightmare began. I paid R78 per mnth for 10 months for 2G wifi with Autopage but the minute MTN took over their bills got ridiculous. The first bill was R234 and I thought that was bad. Shockingly I have found out that I now owe over R3000 just for data and the latest account another R2000 for data. So in 3 months they want to charge me about R5500 for data that cost me only R78 per month with Auotpage.

They are overbilling and refuse to accept responsibility for their errors. I have a credit limit of R109 on my account which they cannot explain why they do not apply to my account!

The staff canot answer questions competently. NO ONE TAKES RESPONSIBILITY! If I send an email I get a stupid response. Questions are not being answered.

There is something seriously bad going on at MTN and I seriously urge all customers to come forward, complain to all the relevant authorites and let them start taking responsibility for all their mistakes, overbilling and lack of service. I'm totally appalled they get away with it!

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. According to our records your usage for April and May 2016 has been way higher than your 2GB allocation. The April total data used was about 5,195GB while the May invoice was 3,910GB.

Kindly note that the credit limit is not a capping tool but a vetting tool. Your line is an open line which does not have a limit. We advise you to consider migrating to a TopUp package which doe not allow you to exceed your monthly data allocation.

Rest assured that it is not our intention to displease you and we look forward to continue improving on our service delivery to you.

Kind Regards,
Itumeleng

Dear Itumeleng, I dispute your billing procedures with my account specifically (Autopage account) I dispute you not imposing the said credit limit on the account. I dispute your non communication with regards to warning me that you were billing exorbitantly. This matter is with the Consumer Goods and Services ombudsman and I shall await the outcome of the dispute. Please do not hand over my account as it is being disputed.
