Overbilled with no service
I do not think I have ever had such poor service in all my being. I have been an MTN customer for the longest time and have been fairly happy with my services for mobile data as well as the price, coverage and service.
Due to this relationship that we have had for years I then decided to get not ONE but TWO home routers for my place in Johannesburg and for my mom in Durban after an agent had called with an amazing price. They informed coverage was great and it was happy and signed up for the contract. I receive the routers the very next day and I was stil amazed at prompt service.
One router had the sim card and instructions attached to it so naturally I followed the instructions and inserted sim and was assuming that it was all systems go however little did I know. Believe you me there is no solution that I have not been offered by the multiple countless calls that I have made to 135 - The checking of coverage, rebooting, reinserting the sim - you name it I have done until like the umpteenth they suggest I go to my nearest MTN. I get to my nearest MTN and they inform me that they cannot assist me and point me at the contact/ distribution centre in Sandton (which is far from me). I get there and they tell me the one sim is for the other router - not how it was mailed to me, the sims were with their corresponding routers (because how on God's green earth was I meant to know that). They help me and then they send me on my way.
I assemble the router and that would be when my problems continue if not get worse. The connectivity is non-existent and when it does decide to connect to the TV it buffers and the picture is so blurry that it looks like I am watching it in a dream. That is when my endless 135 calls and being sent from pillar to post still watching 20 minute episodes 45 minutes to watch.
Just when I thought that was the end of it I receive a R2 200 bill from paying R650 the whole time with a R330 per router special. I have only plugged in the routers from the 5th of August and I have to hotspot my phone to the laptop to work as well as watch TV. Then of course the cherry on top is when they said that I have run out of data when I specifically asked before I took the contract if they practice fair usage and was assured that they do not.
To say I am tired and defeated would be an undertatement. I want to cancel this contract and have all these costs reversed because I have spent half the time on this contract with people on the other line of 135.
