Out of box failure a JOKE

I upgraded my contract at an MTN owned store in umhlanga on the 05 Aug 2016 and got a Samsung S7 edge. On the 8 Aug 16, the phone was 3 days old, the screen failed and there were multiple black lines running through the display. I retuned the phone to East Rand Mall MTN owned store on the 10 Aug 2016 within the 7 days for out of box failure and was told that the phone had to be sent in for assessment and that I should receive an answer today 17 Aug 2016, when I called for a follow up they said that the phone would only be assessed next Tuesday 23 Aug 2016????? the contract is currently 12 days old of which 7 of those MTN has had my phone and now I must wait another week??? that means I will be 2 weeks without my phone??? what is the point then of having the 7 day OBF or buying a top of the range phone????

I have contacted the call centre, the store and repairs and no one wants to help
