out of 10......MTN 10 - VODACOM 0

Having been a contract vodacom client for more than twenty years, I finally decided to move to MTN. My decision was based on the contrast of service levels between vodacom and MTN situated next to each other in the Cape Gate Mall. Notwithstanding my vodacom contract only terminates end Feb but can currently upgrade I forced myself into the MTN store first, to make inquiries as to deals. Sales person very helpful going back and forth making packages comparrisons for my choices. Very expensive but for current technology expected. Went next door to vodacom .....oh my word what a turn off. I explained to a tall big built blonde haired guy I was interested in an iPhone thirteen pro. He immediately said...we have no stock. He stood at the front door where I entered and he met me estimating prices of the phone when asked. I told him I wanted factual costs not estimates whereafter he went to his computer and read out a couple of package prices to me. Unlike the sales at MTN next door he was not interested in packages comparrisons of other older phone brands which were indeed in stock.. Packages where slightly cheaper than MTN but not worth the treatment I received. Not impressed I left out by vodacom door and in by MTN door where I purchased the new Apple iPhone thirteen pro. Nico Hartle, the MTN sales person whom assisted me was so patient, courteous, professional and polite explained in detail the phone capabilities, package details, warranties and as they had no stock went onto the website to find one at another branch. He called me an hour later saying he found a phone but not one on promo but seventy rand more expensive. Because of his willingness to satisfy my needs I accepted the more expensive iphone. Thats not where his assistence ended no...he got into his car and went to collect the phone about an hour away and delivered the phone to my residence. Now that is service and unlike the pathetic service or rather lack thereof from vodacom. The next day Nico helped me via phone with the settings untill I was satisfied with the setup of the phone. Nico served me not only professionally but with the humility of a Christian. Thank you MTN for a sales person such as Nico Hartle this calibre of service few and far between in South Africa today. In fact you dont need to go far in fact just next door at vodacom you will find hopelessness. I in fact bought this phone at MTN a three year contract that will ultimately cost me thirty six thousand rand just to prevent me now or at the end of my term in Feb next year from upgrading with vodacom even if it means paying a thousand rand extra a month untill end Feb. It is worth it considering the service and package from MTN.
