Old and new phone hacked after Upgrade at MTN Randfontein Homestead
I upgraded my contract at MTN ... on Saturday 9 September.
After my upgrade and setting up my phone on Sunday by connecting the cable to both phones as the lady in the store informed me.
After this, I saw that the phone download app by itself, opens apps by itself, opens new screen after the home screen by itself. I also tried changing the settings such as security setting, removing the downloaded apps of which the phone downloaded by itself and also factory rest both old and new phones, but after this, the phones persisted to do the same.
I went to the store today for assistance and Rian assisted, but looked at me as if I am not sane by stating the above and was not very helpful to resolve my issue. He gave me printout with a written statement on it, that is badly written in the first instance, as this only accuses me of doing this to my phone. Rian was unable to verify the problem, of which is not satisfying at all, the store is very quick to assist in upgrading but quickly throws up heir hands when a client asks to assist.
I never had an issue with my phone when upgrading at Autopage, now, the first time I upgrade at MTN direct and a new store, all my data have been hacked on my phone. Either your store is not secure when handling personal information when upgrading, or my account have been hacked in store.
I am in my 7 day out of box warranty, of which the client is also protected by the consumer, of which when a client is not satisfied with an item purchased, is entitled to return or have the item replaced.
I will go to the store tomorrow again and expect MTN Homestead to assist in sorting this out, otherwise I will revert to the media in order to sort this matter.
This is not acceptable and I am not going to stand for this type of service and my personal information that have been hacked after an upgrade at this store.
I expect a call asap.
Thank you.
Regards,
