I have been struggling since November / December last year to get this done.I’ve tried Randpark Ridge branch, Northgate Branch and online and it seems no one can assist. This is really frustrating.I had a Vodacom contract and wanted to port my number and open a contract with MTN. Randpark Ridge, tried and tried and eventually I just bought a MTN pay as you go sim and did the number porting myself. This has been done.I then requested a call back from the MTN web to open a contract.I explicitly told the consultant that I have a MTN number now, and don’t want to loose this but want to open a MTN contract – MegaGig S @ R199 per month. This was confirmed to be done and she would send me a different sim card, I assumed this would be correct.I received a sim card via courier - and nothing else. I don’t even know what the telephone number is, I have not signed any contract so I’m not sure what is going on? I then visited the Northgate branch were it was said I need to contact MTN Directly to cancel this contract as they cannot assist with this.My main concern is that I cannot loose my current number and just want to change this from pay as you go to contract. Mega Gig S @ R199 per month. I am a consultant and cannot loose this number. Please, please can someone assist and confirm what I need to do and how to go about doing this? I’m not sure why this is so difficult in all honesty.I have phoned activations 4 times now and have had to explain my issue 4 times, they cannot assist and need to put me through to another department and then I get cut off. This is the worst service experience I have ever had. I have tried to resolve this issue since November 2021 and I’m still battling. This not rocket science. My pay as you go number need to become a contract number as I cannot loose this number however it seems MTN is making it impossible for me to port my number. How do I cancel this contract as to date I have had no use of this contract to no fault of my own. This was requested on the 31st of January 2022 and it was apparently escalated- no feedback received to date
