Number port disaster

Dear MTN,

Let me just share my frustration:

1. Firstly, i ordered a contract online, consultant phones me and basically rambles through his script, it came across as him just wanting to make the sale and get it over and done with. Not impressed.

2. I SPECIFICALLY told the above mentioned consultant that i want to port my current prepaid vodacom number to my new contract sim. (Please pull up the recordings as i've mentioned this on all three occasions dealing with MTN consultants)

3. I get the cellphone contract delivered and assume that its been ported.

4. I insert new contract sim and the port has not gone through.

5. So me, getting all my facts together before attempting the port, then phoned MTN direct and asked what the procedure entails with mtn porting, because ive been on vodacom since the start and don't know the mtn protocol.

6. The consultant tells me to use the PORTEME#NUMBER. Not stating that it should be sim card number and not the cellphone number. AND that the number has to be activiated first before doing this (after i rica it) I ask him is he dead sure because i know with vodacom you need to this before activating the number.

7. Go to the mtn store to port the number, the store consultant says, and he was super helpful and informative btw, that they should have noted and put through the porting when they initially contacted me for the contract.

I'm so frustrated and disappointed by the lack of knowledge these consultants have. And how everyone says something different.

Please tell me what to do as i refuse to use the contracted number, and my current number is linked to my work, policies etc.

Looking forward to your response and actions.

This is unacceptable. Never had these issues with vodacom, and i actually regret changing to mtn.
