Number blocked and re-allocated to someone else

My partner and I went to take out new contracts with MTN at Clearwater mall with Cosmonet on 31st December. She received her phone that day and her number was ported from CellC to MTN the next day.
There seemed to be a problem with my number and it was told it required releasing. An incident was logged to release the number urgently. On Saturday 2nd, I waited for an hour and a half in the queue where the manager stated that my my number was still blocked. It was at this point that the manager says that he has escalated to his regional manager. I reported back to Cosmonet only to find that there was no further development on the release.
I asked Edwin to resolve it urgently. On Sunday I never heard from Cosmonet, and on Monday I phoned the branch to find out what was going on. I was again told that my number was still blocked. I had to make 9 phonecalls, including 4 to the regional manager (Jonathan) who still has not answered his phone. I also spoke to the Porting Department who said that my number had been requested from someone in Witbank.
I have had the same number for over 20yrs. Since yesterday, no-one has contacted me.
