Not on MTN? Be Grateful!!

I took an upgrade on my Topup Contract mid August 2015. The contract was upgraded to MTNChoice50 which is also a Topup contract which comes with R50 airtime, 100MB data and 100 Free Sms's every month for 24 months at R169pm. I confirmed with the agent that assisted me at the Clearwater MTN shop that month end August I would be charged the premium of R169 + upgrade costs which amounted to just over R300

Month end August my bill came back stating I owed MTN over R500. I called MTN on 25 August and confirmed that my contract was indeed a topup contract and she logged a call with the billing department to fix the issue. No one got back to me.

Fast forward to Month end September, my account was debited with R363.44 instead of the agreed R169. Upon inspection of the statement, I found that there was a charge of R1926.67 for Packet Switched Data Calls and my Total outstanding is R2389.38. I called MTN and I was told they would log another call for the billing team to investigate. The agent confirmed that my account shows that it's top up because all limits are set to \0"but it somehow failed on the network.

Why am I being asked to pay for MTN's incompetence? """
