Not keeping their word

During may 2016 I bought a sumsung A5 16 on contract. I was told I have 24 months warranty on the phone even signed for it. Now beginning of june 2017 my phone starts having battery problems. The back cover is swollen and it wont switch on. When you charge the phone it makes funny noices as if its going to explode. So I went to the mtn store in jubilee mall were I bought the phone and it was sent for repairs .3 days later im called to say my phone is ready for collection. When I get to the store im told that my phone is not fixed because its over 6 months old. So I ask what the 24 months warranty is about and they casually say to me its wgen the phone is freezing or mal****ioning. I explain to them that I did nothing to this phone the battery simple died on its own in my understanding thats part of malfunctioning. This is not fare since I was told about 24 months warranty and 6 even have the papers to prove this
