Not fulfilling contract agreement and pathetic service

I am writing this on behalf of my father who has a contract with MTN. He has a contract for almost year now and has been fighting with MTN Cape Gate to resolve his issue and to date have had no luck. The excuses is pathetic and they have not fulfilled the contract agreement. Summary: He took out a S7 edge contract . With the package he received Samsung Tab (with 200 MB x 24 months) and Gear VR. Firstly on the day of the upgrade they had no MTN sim card for the Tab and I had to go buy one at Pick n Pay (1st issue ). To date he has not received any data (maybe 1st month only) and has queried this with MTN. Each time he has to go into the store to get feedback which is " they will speak to the manager". He has contacted the manager "Warren" (please note dealing with him for 3month if not more) and he has given my dad the run around as well. On Sunday we went into the store once again to raise the concerns and all I got was "his waiting on a response" and excuses about the store that was closed due to a revamp. So I would like to know from MTN what is the point of you revamping your store when your service is pathetic from your stuff?? For the first time on Monday he had called my dad back to say " his waiting on Joburg and they going to see how they can resolve this ". So once again I would like to know what is the point of paying R800+ for a contract where your service providers cant fulfill their agreement. My dad has been with MTN for years and to receive this kind of service is pathetic. Oh and to the managers point yes the package included freebies "tab with the data and VR" however my dad is paying MTN monthly (sticking to his obligation as per the agreement) and the freebie which was part of the package is not been fulfilled. Regardless of the amount of data, it is the principle which remains " MTN is obligated to fulfill their agreement and they are not". They are also not providing a service to my father by resolving his issue instead he needs to go to the store and follow up to only get a ear full of excuses. In conclusion I would just like to know what rights do we have as consumers??? PATHETIC
