Not enough Information given to customers

When i took my phone on contract, i told the sales person i wanted to insure my phone and he signed me up to 24 hour mobility and never told me that this 24 hour mobility was an independent insurance company and was not part of MTN in any way. i lost my phine and when i went to register a clain in an MTN syore i was told they did not work with 24 hour mobility anymore and that they have their own insurance now and that i had to do it myself. fine i did that. at that time MTN head office workers went on strike and i was unable to blacklist my device. 30 days passed without being able to blacklist my device and 24 hour mobility prescibed my claim. if MTN had informed us that they were cutting ties with 24 hour mobility and gave us an option yo choose to stay with 24 hour mobility or move over to their insurance, i wouldnt have lost. how do they refer us to companies that they know are not going to care about what happens in MTN's operations and be understanding to the clients but companies who stick to their policieas and not care about the situation. if this was MTN insurance, my claim wouldnt have been prescibed, because they would be understanding. i went to MTN, not 24 hour mobi

Hello BonisiweM,

We are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused and for the breakdown in service experienced.

We can confirm that our non-owned stores (franchises) were selling insurance policies for external insurance companies. However we are not aware of our franchises not selling external insurance company policies any longer. We see that you app**** for the contract at Cosmo Net - Soweto. They are a franchise but sell our contracts and services through their store.

Our owned stores have and can only sell you internal insurance policies and might have advised you accordingly.

Regards
Tim
