NON COMPLIANCE BY MTN WITH REGARD TO MOBILE PHONE CONTRACT

In December 2022, Ms. Grace Kabeya from MTN retail shop in Centurion Mall (Pretoria) sold me a Redmi 10 2022 mobile phone on contract for two years. On the 21st/ 22nd of February 2024, I went to the MTN shop in Centurion Mall to query about an SMS notification that I am supposed to receive every month when MTN loads data and airtime as per our contractual agreement. I then requested Ms. Grace Kabeya to send me the whole of the 2023 monthly statements to my email address, which I haven't received yet.

On the same week of 22 February 2024, I contacted the MTN call center and requested Ms. Bathanda the whole of the 2023 monthly statement but I was unsuccessful in obtaining those statements.

On 25 February 2024, I went to the MTN shop to make a follow-up with Ms. Grace Kabeya. I was notified by Ms. Kabeya's colleague that she was not available at that time. As a result, I requested Ms. Kabeya's and her manager's email addresses which they unfortunately bounced back when I intended to lay a complaint in writing.

In conclusion, MTN doesn’t want to comply with my request to provide me with my monthly statements, which makes me sceptical in terms of them honouring our contractual agreement.
