No/Extremely Poor Service MTN

Today I visited the Cape Road 2nd Avenue MTN store in Port Elizabeth hoping to upgrade my Internet service. Unfortunately, the sales representative informed me that their systems were operating very slowly. I entered the store at 11:30am and after waiting for over an hour and a half, I reluctantly left at 1pm to return to work. Before departing, I asked the salesperson to contact me at 4:30pm if the system issues were resolved and my upgraded Internet package was ready, including a new router.

Later in the day, I received a call that the credit check was still pending approval in their system, although I had already received email confirmation that it was authorized shortly after submitting it. It was evident the staff was flustered by the technical issues slowing down what should have been a quick 10 minute upgrade process. I recognized that the employees were powerless, rather than indifferent, and were also frustrated with the lack of internal technical support to address these kinds of system problems in a timely manner.

Rather than placing blame, I believe open and constructive feedback to the local management and corporate leadership at MTN is the most effective way to prevent situations like this going forward. I plan to share my experience and suggestions on how to proactively improve technical support for branches during occasional periods of slow network responsiveness. My aim is that through positive and collaborative communication, we can work together to enhance the customer experience at MTN.
