No Service to Customers

Went in to sign up a MTN 200 for a Galaxy Note 4 contract at MTN Gatemax in Durban on the 10th March.

Was told that I would be contacted and the phone should be ready once paperwork is processed on the 11th.

Tried calling the whole of the 11th with no answer.

I then had to drive 45 mins to the store.

When I go to the store to find out what is going on, I was told they do not answer calls when they are busy.

I asked them what is the status of the the application, i was told it was still pending.

The sales rep then contacts me after I leave the store, so I tell the sales person that I need this phone urgently, if my phone was not processed by end of business, cancel my application.

The sales consultant just rep**** ok and the call was ended.

Where is the level of service at this branch.

There is a total lack of interest by staff to help customers and provide a 5 star service.

How can a company refuse to answer the calls of customers on their landline because they are slighlty busy and be happy to turn away new business.

Having been with MTN for the last ten years, might be time to change over.

Hello Mihir08,

We are truly sorry for the breakdown in service and for the inconvenience caused. It was not our intention to have dissatisfied you in any way.

We've now escalated the matter directly to the store manager and requested that the service issues be dealt with accordingly. We see that the contract was activated today (17th of March 2015) and the line is fully active. The hold up with the activation of the contract could have been stock related, hence it was pending on the system.

Once again we do apologize for the breakdown in service and inconvenience caused.

Regards
Tim
