no service at mtn at all. do not risk your health with these guys!!
I had two contracts with MTN, all was well until one the contracts ended and i recieved a call requesting that i upgrade but i declined. That is where my problems started. Firstly, i was never informed that once your contract ends one needs to put in a request for the line to be "migrated" from a month to month basis to prepaid. Thats fine, i endured the suprise debit orders until finally my line was made prepaid. I am now left with one line thats still on contract but will end in March 2021, recently i got another suprise debit order of 300 whereas i was supposed to pay 99. I went to a nearby branch and was assisted by Isaac who managed to check for me what went wrong and advised me what to do. It turned out there was a transfer that was not allocated because my ID number was not supposed to be used as a reference. I went through my records and went back to the branch with my proof of payment again i was helped by Isaac to send the deposit slip to the relevant dept and i waited for my refund but nothing. Isaac gave a reference number to track my request and said call 135 and request to speak to the collections dept but upon calling and speaking to Thandeka, i was then told the reference number i recieved is not the one they used to track the status of my request and that there is no collections dept at MTN. I had Thandeka on the line while i went to the branch to give Isaac the deposit slip to send to Thandeka so she can sort out this minor misunderstanding despite her telling me about the high call volume yet i waited more than 20 mins just to speak to what MTN calls a service champion(laughable) she opted not to have me send her the proof directly but through Isaac. Fine, Isaac confirmed that he will send it to her and i left the branch in Heidedal. A day or two later i decided to send the proof to customer care via email and Lungelo responded to my email and said he had forwarded to the billing team and i waited for feedback but nothing. I sent him another email telling him that i had not gotten any feedback from the billing team to which he said he had sent the proof again to the billing team. I then responded to him amd told him that i would go and dispute at the bank and i did. Today i paid what i owe mtn and sent both deposit slips to collectionsadmin, this after i spoke to Nonhlanhla Zwane the day before who advised me to rather direct my emails to ***.. this is the worst service i have ever come across especially because it does not matter how you go about it. You go to a branch and they tell you to call 135 but the supposed service champions are nowhere close to being champions. You send an email as a last resort but still nothing comes right. So as client who do i talk to, why must one fight just to get proper service? What are you paying people to do there because they clearly need some form of training? Do right by your clients, there service is disgusting and makes all the good guys there look bad. I will not recommend anyone to take up a contract with mtn at all. Ypur agents need to stop lying to clients and if they do not want deal with a client, refer them someone who can and will. Its very unpleasant how they pass the line around when your situation is beyond their capabilities. Sies on everyone at MTN from the board members all the way down to the last guy. SIES!!!
