No service at all - taking money!

I had a data contract with MTN since 2011. The contract amount was for R149 per month and then if the cap was reached the limit, it will go over to pay as you go. So for the last 4 years I have never reached the cap and therefor a debit order of R149 went of every month until 2 months ago where an amount of +/- R1500 went off, obviously I wanted to inquire this. After a week of literally trying to phone them every day and holding for 45min +, I eventually got hold of them where the lady just told me, you over spent. When I rep**** to her to say that my contract is suppose to go to pay as you go, she mentioned that her systems says I am on a open contract. My questions then was to please send me a copy of the contract and why in the 4 years have I never even reached my limit and now suddenly my bill is this much.

The copy of the contract and breakdown of bill was suppose to take 7 working days. It is now a month later and I haven't received anything. Another debit order of R1900 went off this month?

In the meantime, I cancelled the contract where I was told that someone will phone me to confirm this within 2 days. No one has phoned me. I want to know who to sort this out?

Hello Gogga02,

Thank you for posting.

Please accept our apologies for the delayed response and any inconvenience this may have caused.

According to our records you have been in contact with our consultants and the contract has been cancelled.

However, there is a collection plan in progress for the outstanding amounts.

We trust you find this in order.
Regards
Jean
