No response on ********** upgrade

Early this year, MTN contacted me to ask if I wanted an upgrade, as my contract was coming to an end. I said no. I was told at after the end of the contract, the value of the handset on the current contract would no longer be debited from my account, and the contract would continue month-to-month. Instead, an "upgrade" was processed, and I am still paying the extra amount for the handset that has now been fully paid for on the previous contract. The call centre agents alternately refuse to help me, or promise to email the relevant department. I have had ZERO response for two weeks now, and the agent I just spoke to said she would send another email. That is not good enough! I want the extra amounts reversed, and I want the "upgrade" cancelled and migrated to a month-to-month contract, as agreed. Why would I want to be locked into a 24 month contract if I wasn't paying for a handset?? The calls are all recorded, so there is proof I didn't agree to a new contract.

Unsurprisingly, the silence from MTN has been deafening. The Sales supervisory team is clearly as "helpful" as the call centre... On the plus side, my April invoice is the reduced amount. On the down side, I am still locked into a contract I never agreed to, the additional amounts have not been refunded, and the FULL "contract" amount was debited from my account, despite the invoice stating a lesser amount! Kindly escalate this to somebody that can actually solve the problem! I repeat: I want the "contract" cancelled, and the **********ly debited amounts refunded. In FULL. This includes the amount just debited that did not tally with the invoice issued. Alternatively, I will lodge a dispute and move my business elsewhere. ========= And in case anyone's interested, here is the text of the Private reply from MTN: Thank you for your post. We are sorry to have disappointed you with our service and would like to assure you that we do strive to provide the best service at all times. The matter has been escalated to Sales supervisory team for urgent resolution. They will contact you directly with feedback and an action plan. We understand that the entire experience must be very frustrating and hope that we can restore your faith in us. Regards Mike Ramaboka Complaint Management Team
